BendBender's 1st Grow!

Howdy Troublesome! thanks for checkin out the grow and the compliments. I checked out your grow and it looks good. If you need any advice, definitely check out the skooter clowns grows.... these guys really know how to do it.... Simplicity! (and a lot of light). I am essentially doing exactly what they do.

Bender...they are looking fantastic. Don't ya love that smell?
And they are sooo gorgeous. I can't wait till MJ is legal. I love the looks of the plants so much I'd love to have one as a house plant too.

Thanks Bender. You nailed it...keep it simple. In our opinion there is no need to complicate the growing of a weed. We don't spend much time at all doing anything but keeping the water level up and changing out the mix once a week. Monitor temps and that's it. After all this isn't a job. Nobody is paying us to do this so we really don't want to spend a lot of time doin' it.

I got my Saturday night buzz on so I'll shut up now....thanks again for the kind words! :hookah:

P.S. Slappy started another thread showing what we have in store for the second room in a couple of weeks. Check it out here: Clownin' Around with a Couple of Moms

Hey Bro.... Ive been sampling my grow and its surprisingly good.... and I do love Dat SMelL LOL.... Ill check out your new grow and come in and bug ya.

As far as the kind words, I gotta thank you for the help... Im really glad I ran across your grow and decided to follow it. Everything is working great.

Did you fix your cloner issue (dailing back the pressure) and did you see the pump?
the babies in my cloner are big now with roots about 15" long.... I gotta finish the motorhome.....

Taking longer than I wanted but Im insulating and sound deadening it using OSB and sound board. Gonna run 220 and water to it as well (which means the fun task of digging a trench to keep it stealth and freeze protected). Im also putting in a temp controlled air filter with 400 CFM fan and valves to re-direct the light vents so i can keep it warm in the winter.

Gonna be cool when its done but a lot of head scratching (and 30 years of icky motorhome filth to cleanup).

Ya Slappy and I have taken apart our cloner and rebuilt the guts to use a single, rotating, sprayer instead of the system we had before where each clone had a dedicated, and direct, sprayer. We weren't getting as high a success rate as we felt we could and after seeing your post and Slappy seeing yours and pictures of someone else's we decided to make the change....and MAN is it paying off already. The clones in the "mom" thread that Slappy started (you posted there as well) are the first batch in the new cloner box and they are doing FANTASTIC. Thanks for that heads up and advise. It's paying off nicely! :welldone:

Sounds like cleaning up that motorhome is a job worth doing. Has fantastic potential. Pictures of it...and the interior etc! We all love pictures :)

Oh man... your plants are freakin' amazing! I wish I had enough money to do a set up like yours. Maybe one day. :) But your ladies are looking mighty sexy! :goodjob:

Skoots.... So youre doing a single head? Why not use the manifold you built and the heads u already have? I would think if you have more than 6 clones that the ones on the outer edge may not get any love nutes... FYI Im using the micro rotating sprinklers... they are perfect for a cloner. I can take detailed pics if you need.

That fucking motorhome.... so slow... spent 8 hours in it today and it looks like I did 30 minutes of work... Ill get some pics.

Supernova.... Thanks Buuuuuuuuuddy.....I apprecaite the props.
Check craigslist for grow items... you may be able to find some deals..... check earlier in my thread and you can find the fans I use for cooling the lights... they are only $10.oo each and you need a cheap PC power supply (or a 12v DC wall adapter) to run them.

If all else fails you can build lights using 65 watt (actual watts) CFL bulbs and make your own grow light out of OSB or thin plywood. Mine puts out ~ 270 watts and can grow plants.... it cost about $80.00 to build.

Feel free to ask questions on DYI stuff... Im the king of cheap!

Thanks again for stopping by

Bendy

I have never thought of looking up things on craigslist! You are very helpful, thank you so much! If you don't mind, I might take you up on the offer of asking some more questions later. I will do this once my grow get's going. You are the shit Bendy! :ganjamon: You are the king of first time growers! I almost don't believe it's your first time. hehehe

thanks man but I learned everything from the skooter clowns (make sure to go into their profile and look up their completed grows) and r o s e m a n s (are they blocking this guy?) journal (its huge and a bit long-winded)... the skoots system works really well and its easy.

Looking good bender,
i dont have any advice so i'll just sit back n watch !!!!! :ganjamon:

that rhino looks awesome
maybe i do have some advice when you take your cutting try cutting the leaves back abit so you have half a leaf in stead of a whole one it works for us and ive seen others do the same thing.just a thought !!!
goodluck on the motorhome grreat idea i hate landlords.stop and say high when you get a chance

How Doo Tmac! The plants were looking great until last night when I moved them from my grow room in the house to the motorhome... 2 weeks before harvest. Some of the branches got bent... so time will tell on how the outcome is.

DWC is super easy. Put air stones in bottom, add water and nutes, harvest bud. The only thing I dont like about it is the noise the air pump puts out. I do recommend a decent amount of water... I use 15 gallons in each reservoir. Seems to really stabilize the mix.

My containers are called super boxes from Lowes... cost is $15.00 each and the have squares on the lid that fit a 3" hole perfectly. The lids do need to be painted. I prime mine with plastic prep and paint them with Rustoleum white. Its an oil-based paint which is really tough and easy to clean. The lids are really strong too so the plants wont make them sag.

The only thing I dont like is I wish I could use 4" net pots instead of 3". The plants will stand up better in 4".

The motor home is kind of a nightmare... very hard to build inside of it. everything is a tight fit. I have no choice because of my Shit-Bag landlord (who is coming over for the second time in 2 months to inspect the house). Friggin nightmare.

So far I have about 40 hours of work in it and I have only built 1 room... ugh.

Ill get some pics up for everyone to see whats going on in there.

Bendy.

I cant imagine moving ours right now, at least Annie, more than a foot or two out of the closet. She has 3 heavy colas. Think duct tape... we used it to tape an outside plant together after it was attacked by a chicken. Worked great!!

Wow and to think we gave an old (1969 my dad gave me) winnabago away 10 years ago to the red cross for a tax deduction. Will never do something like that again. 3 years later we got a notice we owed $??? for storage... call the #. Our motorhome was found in a drug neighborhood, no tires, etc... They towed it and sent us the bill. Well of course we had the paperwork... so no problem. The guy said it happens all the time. They take you vehicle and sell it with out doing the proper paperwork and getting it out of your name! I am a big donator... but DO NOT DONATE VEHICLES!

Ya I tried to tie them up before moving them but it was still traumatic for the fat girls... After moving them I felt like I was duct taped from all the resin that was all over me.

Thats very interesting to hear about the donations. Like they say... No good deed goes unpunished.

Well While writing this post the landlords lacky showed up... He spent about 3 minutes in the house and looked in the room where the grow was. He didnt even notice the motorhome (AKA rolling tenement) in the side yard. ... LOL.

OK... getting near the end for the 6 babies that I started 11 weeks ago....

Here is one of the casualties from moving these 3' wide monsters through a 22" wide motor home door. Been trying to prop them up all day. I cant even figure out which plant is which they are so dense.

Okay Looking at the big new grow room (5' X 7 1/2' w 1000 watt light) ...

On the far left are the 2nd generation Rhino clones started about a month ago in the cloner....

SANY02641.JPG

On the middle Left are the 2 White Rhinos...

SANY02631.JPG

The Middle Right are the 1st generation Kush and WHite Rhino clones... growing very slow and odd...some of the plants have only 3 leaves.....

SANY02664.JPG

And lastly on the far right are the 2 Kush and the 2 Marshmallows... The marshmallows are really putting out large buds.... too bad I have no more clones of them. The Kushs are really soaking with resin but the buds are still small.

SANY02652.JPG

Here is a large bud on the White Rhino.... Some of the big buds are getting red hairs now... My camera didnt take good pics of them....

SANY02672.JPG

SANY02683.JPG

Here is a shot of the equipment room. There is a large muffler in the back to quiet down the main ventilation fan... made building this area a real PITA. Everything is laid out with OSB and Sound deading board in multiple layers to help quiet down that obnoxious air pump.

Gonna be working some more on the old rolling grow farm this weekend.

Ill try to get better pics of the buds.... I could use some experts advice here on when I should switch to floralicicious and/or plain water to flush them... or whatever additive you guys advise me to use.

Thanks Guys:tokin:

ya i have a sanyo xacti camera... it doesnt focus well on close ups at all. I may have to break out my old camera... that thing rocks but its a pain to transfer pics from it.

Nice bud porn there Bender. And red hairs are always a good thing :)

We usually try to time the switch to clear, pH balanced, water so that they are flushing for about 7 to 10 days before harvest. It's hard to judge sometimes. If you start seeing amber tris then you will want to switch right away and it could mean you should have switched by then...see what I mean by it's hard to judge?

its amazing what we can come up with for grow space for our beloved girls is'nt it !!!!!!
as far as the break you could take a drinking straw and split it then put it around the stem with some tape outside the straw as a sort of crutch to help hold it straight and take some of the stress off it. :lot-o-toke:
goodluck at least your close to done so you aint got far to go brother !!!!!
