Clones and gender

Hi guys,

i had a couple of complete noob questions with regard to cloning.

1. when is the time to clone? vegetative phase or post flowering?

2. will all the clones be the same sex (female) as the "mother" plant?

i think veg is better altho some people say you will get tighter internodes when cloning from a flowering mom

the clones should be genetic copies of the mother, so yes they should be female altho cloning can introduce genetic mutations so hermies are possible

Clones are also at the same genetic age/state as their mothers, so if you clone from a flowering plant you will have to re-veg it. I've read the stress from re-vegging may stall root production, but i've never tried it myself.

thanks for the info. i have limited growing space so i think i'm just going to go with feminized seeds.
