Drying flower in the oven for extraction?

Hey, i hope you are all doing well. Quick question, if my intention is to make coconut oil extraction do i need to dry and cure the flower? Is drying and curing only done for taste or also for potency?

Hi.. BudPacient... I would dry and cure the flower cause no matter how great anyone is at extracting you are still goning to get some plant matter in with your trichomes when extracting so might as well have that plant matter cured if its going to be in there, So in case there is any Chlorophyll still in the plant matter that will cause harsh smoke and taste and you won't have to worry about it cause you kept the step of curing in.
