Hey guys.
I was invited to your forum by 311stoner
So while I'm hanging around,
I thought I'd Show my Grow.
Here is my automated aero system
designed to grow hybrid aero/hydro.
It is made with two 56 gl sterlite tubs.
They are connected with the 6 inch pvc tubes
and it the bottom with 3/4 inch cross flow tubes.
The 6 inch tubes are mounted 1/2 lower on one side.
This keeps the flow going to the low side,
and that prevents roots from clogging the 3 pumps,
which do all the work.
I built some 9 inch high stands,
to accommodate the plumbing.
And then I insulated the tubs with R-13 fiberglass,
and space blankets.
I have a 1/4hp chiller.
The return flow from the chiller
also act as a waterfall,
to help increase the DO of this rez.
because that's what this baby is all about.
The chiller has it's own pump that runs 24/7
You can see some relief holes I drilled into the tubing,
that also add considerable DO to this rez
through that spray action.
And you can see the float valve.
The float valve keeps the space shuttle
topped off continuously, with plain RO,
from another 40gl rez..
The main spray pump
is a 950gph Danner Supreme Mag Drive.
So as you can see,
once it's turned on
all I do is weekly flush and re-nute.
Of course I keep an eye on the pH and make a few adjustments when required.
