Hello everyone! I'm Rodger Ball and this is My Grow Journal, 2020.

July 6

Woke up to PH 6.2, dropped it back down to 5.5

Noticed my rockwool is too went and the sprouts can't move down through.

I split some new R/W in halF, soaked them in root grow and 5.5.PH R/O water, put the stem downward and closed the rockwool. No more top feeding. The tops are dry while the bottom half of the rockwool is damp squeezing the excess water out.
Repositioned the rockwool properly in the nets and filled the medium back up.

20 min later the three are happy and have shed their shells, standing proud.

Don't veg in blue light. It slows them down. Turn lights out until leaves are upright IMO.

Well... here we are. July 19th.

One of my seedlings didnt make it. Luckily I was germinating others and had two to put in. I gave one to my friend as well.

So now I'm at, two, SUNSHINE SHERBERT and two, CHERRY GAR-SEE-YA (bottom to top).

From my last post I've only transplanted the two SS into the buckets (same method for germinating), and now the roots are touching the water.
The first one closest to the right, I was checking to make sure the rockwool wasn't soaked and when I pulled it up, I broke 1cm of root that was already in the medium! Wasn't even 24 hours. These girls wanna grow!

DUTIES:
Maintaining a 5.8 PH all day. Keeping res temps down with ice packs every 6-7 hours, exhausting
(I've ordered a $600 chiller and am currently waiting on it).

Yesterday, I changed the water and added nutrients. I started with 700ppm (early veg), and that was way too much.
They stiffened up noticeably and tpis started to lighten up. I immediately drained out 10L and brought PPM down to 600, still too much.

I ended up taking out 2/5 of res water, replacing it with fresh R/O and adding 10ml (around 2/5 a bit less), of CALMAG.

Instantly I noticed they relaxed and stopped burning.
That was all within an hour. That's how fast your plants respond in this system.
Went to sleep worry free and woke up to some new growth and healthy girls.

ADDITIONAL LEARNING:
There seems to been some conflicting information regarding sleep. Some say do, some say don't. Some say it doesnt matter.

My experience and personal knowledge has led me to this conclusion: life needs sleep.

My baby boy grows noticeably when he sleeps. Again, I'm 6'7" and my wife is almost 6'. Our 5.5 month old is in 12 month clothing and average 9 month height.
Babies do the most growing in their sleep. When I applied this to my plants I noticed savage growth for such young plants.
This I will now swear by.
This theory cold also be taken one step further -
When you reach late veg the plant reaches what would be, "college party years" and leave lights on 24 hours until it's time to flip. That's just a theory and I'm definitely going there.

Made it over, you should attach your journal to your signature. So it’s easy for people to find. I do notice significant growth during dark hours, I like to roll with 24 hour light for 2 weeks then 18-6 until flip. Seems to work well for me.
Yes! Good idea.
That's how I started in this case too
When they accept late veg PPM I'll keep em on and let them party!

I like to let them get 4 hours of sleep, I feel like it gives them a little recharge to do some good growing when the lights come back on, that could just b my personification lol
