Has anyone else modified a tent?

I had to shorten a tent height about 3" before. After I did it, I put the tent on top of a cut 3' x 3' foam insulation board that was 1-1/2" thick. The extra length from top to bottom got took up from doing that, even though it's a bit loose.

That’s a good idea did it end up being light proof after? Also why make tents 6 and a half feet tall or higher most ceilings are 7 or 8’ doesn’t give a lot of space for duct and wire management

Yeah, since I didn't do anything to alter the tent part itself, I didn't have any light leaks. I wish I could have found me a 6-1/2' tent, but I kind of like having the extra height of this altered one.
