Hello,
I'm growing legally as a caregiver and I ran into a problem and need some help but allow me to explain everything first.
So, I have a building with a main floor and then a basement level. Both floors are 28W x 23L , the upper floor is a 10 foot ceiling while the basement is 7-8 feet.
My original plan was going to have a 24 plant cycle. 24 plants upstairs for bloom, 24 plants downstairs for veg, and 24 clones downstairs as well. One light per plant, the Nanolux 630w cmh is the light I was planning on using. Each plant would have a 3x3 PVC built trellis net around it(scrog), with another 2 feet of space between the plants on all sides so I have plenty of walking room to tend to the plants.
I was also going to have 2 5 Ton Ac units installed as well incase one was to fail, the other would kick on so the plants are not affected. This was my plan until the electrician came to the property.
So, basically he said I don't have enough power to do everything as I wanted, and would need at least 800-1000 amps. The building I will be growing in has 100 amps, but he said he can use the other 200 amps from the house. (barn has 100 amps, house has 200 amps) He said the original 100 amps in the barn would be enough for the downstairs but he suggested to use LED lights for veg since they use less amps.
Then for the upstairs, he said he'd run the power from the pole box for the house which has 200 amps. He said I can use the 24 lights like I planned for flower, but no to the 5 ton ac units. He suggested to divide the upper floor in half so it has two rooms. One room would have the lights on for 12 hours, while the other has them off, and it'll rotate like that. Then for the AC, he suggested a split zone ac unit in the middle of the two rooms which would pump ac in the room that has the lights on, and pump heat in the room thats off, and rotate like that as well.
But tomorrow I will be calling the company that powers my area tomorrow first thing in the morning to see how soon they can add power because the electrician said it can take months to get someone out here and add the power I need.
So now that you all know the backstory. What LED lights do you guys recommend? Also, what are your thoughts on the split zone ac? Any feedback would be awesome, thanks !
