New leaves growing from cotyledons

The cotyledons fell off after a brief battle with nute burn and suddenly a few days later there’s new leaves sprouting from where the cotyledons were. Is this normal? I’ve only had one other plant but it also lost its cotyledons and nothing new grew from there.

I have seen this a couple times on some of my plants, I find it happens when I top a bit late into verging. I always razor off all the stuff below my two or 4 main branches and sometimes those start growing from the node of the cotyledons.

Does it boost the growth of the rest of the plant to remove useless growths?
Prolly not but you dont want stuff growing down that low.

You get better air flow later on and no wasted energy growing something that wont be useful.
