Yeah, I know. I'm just being bitter and old because it's been such a long, long time since I've driven the coast highway. It might not be a Harley but my old '70 Bonny was a joy to run down the coast. Not so much joy coming back up the I-5.

Motorcycles will Triumph!

It's -37C tonight and my brain is even more frosty than usual.

:peace:

I had three Bonneys over the years. 2-1970s and a '69. the last Bonney, a '70, had a custom hard-tail frame. 6 over open spring chrome front end and TT pipes. I built it over the winter and had a lot of fun all summer. Went off the bike in the fall, got cut off, and broke my back in '83. New baby on the way so I sold it to a bro and never got around to getting on two wheels again. I used to have an 850 Norton Commando. It was a 750 with a big-bore kit and Rocky Road Racing pistons with 12:1 compression. Guy sold it to me for $500 'cause it wouldn't run worth shit. Just needed a bushing in the magneto and smaller main jets in the carbs. Seems it was jetted to run alcohol. lol That bike was FAST! Got offered $2500 for it so I let it go. I never owned a Harley but rode quite a few as I had a home MC repair business for a few years. British bikes or Harleys only. If your Yamasaki POS needed a tune-up you could take it to the freakin' dealer!

I've been thinking about getting an old basket case Bonney and rebuilding it like I did with the last one. Someday before I'm too f'n old I hope. I could use a Skidoo right about now tho. :0)

Labrat,
I drove an 18 wheeler ( 1997) on rt.1, from San Jose down to where ever that cop pulled me over and told me i just had to much vechicle for that rd.. He was really nice about it though, $55 ticket for blocking traffic and a free escort to the nearest rd. leading to rt. 5 !! I lived in LA for 14 yrs. and (61-75) Rode more than one bike up to San Jose. They had a lot of concerts back in the day !! Then in 75 i left, chased a skirt all the way to New England !! The pacific coastline is the most spectacular view that i've ever experienced !! Got 6 inches this afternoon !! Have a nice day !!
