thanks for your input guys. cowboy, i havent snipped anything yet.. i'm still being patient ;)..i was just wondering exactly what you have answered for me, will it get me high? if it doesn't then really there would be no point, and if its harsh i would just end up being disappointed. i'm gonna wait until day 49 or day or day 56 of flowering to pick a taste tester. if i do end up snipping a bud i will dry it out normally and wait a few days before smoking,,, not gonna ruin the taste or anything by trying to dry it out quickly, ill have some more pic updates soon :blunt: :peacetwo:

yeah,yeah,yeah. suuuuuuure your not going to try it. go ahead man, this is the only way your going to know the taste of it, and if any the high of it. if this is your first time growing, your doing a great job and you must use it as learning expiernce. so go ahead and try it so you can put it into your brains reference. plus i suggest keeping a note pad to jot things down.

thanks HZ, cowboy and Tmac tho i have decided to wait. the buds are starting to get really frosty and about 15% of the pistils have turned red,,i dont know if u will be able to tell or not from this bud porn session :tokin: we're now at day 42..:yummy:

Well if anything it still has a lot of packing to put on but the amount of tops you have should be encouraging! Hard to say otherwise.

Yea i know eh, thanks SB! I was thinking this is what im planning on doing for the harvest. since i'm very impatient when i have no smoke and am always tempted to pick a taste tester, im going to chop the top of madison, around day 65, day 70, maybe a little early in most peoples eyes, and leave the branches that have came up thru the canopy to make nice tops till about day 90 or so, to get em nice and ripe and fat as possible. all of the buds on the main stem above the bush and the main cola are ripening quicker then the rest so i figured it was a good idea? any suggestions would be cool :cool:

got word from my friend today, and he was able to dig up a copy of the money order he sent vancouver seed bank :yahoo: he had gotten two super silver haze seeds, and two seeds of chemotherapy or UBC...so after reading up on the two different strains, i have come to the census that madison must be UBC..

Chemo Weed
Developed by the University of British Columbia for chemotherapy patients. Always grows big calyxes, smells pungent, with a super high buzz. If you are not used to the potency, you will fall asleep. Grows as big as you want it to get. Flowers in 8 weeks. Grows well under any conditions. Indica type hybrid.
Genetics: 20% Sativa / 80% Indica
Flowers: Indoor: 8-9 weeks
Yield: Very good to very heavy

Super Silver Haze
This variety made Dutch Passion the "High Times Cannabis Cup" winner in 1992. Formerly this strain was called "Haze/Skunk". Still one of the best for the Dutch Passion team. Original Haze is a pure Sativa strain. It is crossed with Skunk #1 to get a bigger yield, a softer taste and a shorter flowering period. Truly superior sweet taste. hey zb, i don't recommend ever taking the top, this is where your going to have the most potent bud please leave it for harvest. if you have to ,take some of the popcorn buds off of the lower branches. your almost finished, this next few weeks your buds are going to swell really nice.

May I suggest to take cowboy's wise advise and leave the tops alone. You have some very impressive buds going on, and taking the best early would be a shame. Pistol, or hair color is not a good way to judge when your plant is ready to harvest, the best way is to get a pocket microscope at Radio Shack...about 10 - 15 bucks...and check the tric color. You should be able to search more info on this critical subject to determine the high you wish to achieve.

thanks everyone for the advice and grandaddy, be gentle ;). I will definitely take any advice from this site and gladly roll with it,, so you can ensure that i wont be picking the top first :thanks: on another note,, i live in canada and there arent any radio shacks here. does anyone know what store i can get one of those pocket microscopes from? we have a circuit city and the source which are almost identical to radio shack, i think thats where i could find one...sucks though seeing how there is none within 10k of me :rollit: anyone know? :peace:

oh and i forgot to mention, i also have a magnifying glass, 8x i think or maybe 6x, anyhow i can see the trichs just barely, not really enough to determine if they are cloudy or not. gonna try to take some pics in a bit
