Post Bud Washing much of the harvest is now brown, with pics, need advice

Hello all,
New here and have a couple questions.
I had my first harvest a few days ago and can’t tell you how excited I am!

I grew Harle Tsu outdoors in So California and had some issues with caterpillars. I pulled all The little critters i could find during harvest, trimmed some of the damaged areas and did some research on Bud Washing to help further clean the harvest. Within a day or two of drying, the buds turned brown way more than the samples I didn’t bud wash???

Couple questions:
Does this look okay to use? The buds are more brown than I was hoping for.

Did I wait too long to harvest?

Could it be bud rot?

Could it be that I trimmed/manicured before drying?

Could the acidic wash from the lemon and baking soda cause the bud to turn brown? I used lemon juice and baking side in warm water and then rinsed cold in another bucket.

I would love further insight and anything I can do?

Ultimately, I want to assure it’s okay to use (vape via a Pax).

Never use warm water. Period. Room temp is great and cool water from the tap is ok too. I use RO water so I don't put anything back on to my buds. I have very hard water where I live.
