Question about 8th I bought

This is my first post so, be gentle on me

I recently purchased an 8th of what my dealer told me is a hybrid of white widow and og kush. When I got it home, I took it out and was about to grind it when, I noticed the nugs had hard, white cake like frosting on it. I was suspicious so, I took a lighter to the white part on a smaller nug and, it started bubbling up and turned black. My first thought was baking soda but, I'm not really sure. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I've been getting my stuff from this dealer for a while so, I don't think he'd willingly sell me bad stuff. Should I mention it to him?

I cant help you man , i have seen a lot of "White cake like frosting" and i dont burn it, i smoke it haha but yes you should mention that to him.

I smoked a few bowls of it and, I'm still alive so, it's not deadly lol. But it did taste a bit weird. It was the bubbling thing that had me he most concerned.

It did the job but, I was paranoid the whole time I because I was worried I smoked something that would kill me, lol.

If it was suspicious to me I wouldn't smoke it & I would tell my buddealer. But I always look & see & sniff what I buy.
