Rubbery Weed

I have a few strains in long term storage > 3 months and I find the weed and the best I can describe when grinding is it's rubbery. Is this because the moisture. They are in Jars with 62% Boveda packs and monitored with a hygrometer that is pretty close to bang on at 62%. Should I perhaps drop down to 58% Boveda packs?

Have you left a bud out for 5 - 10 minutes before breaking it up ? Does it break up better after letting it sit out ? If it does I would think it's still a little too moist in the jars.

Thanks no I haven't, but can give it a try, although I am on the west coast so don't think leaving it out will dry it out very much.
