Hey everyone. I topped my main stem 3 days ago and now I have two new stems actually growing out of the stem I just cut off. This is my first time topping and second time growing a plant so forgive me if this question sounds stupid but is it normal for 2 New shoots to grow out of the actual cut? Thanks.

thats what your aiming for when you top!! the more you top the more branches you create

Thank you. I thought that the two branches next to the cut would be the new mains

Sounds like you "fimmed" Did you get all of the new shoot? If you split it you can theoretically get up to 8 new shoots. Wait a few days and see if you still get the side branches catching up.
