Lysol... no I wouldn't use that near plants. No research needed.

But I would have never considered Toilet Bowl Cleaner either...

Yeah well, if nothing grows in your toilet then it'd definitely kill anything that may be hiding in the clay. It also helps with any remaining root or plant material left behind.
