CFL wattage needed?

Hey Guys,

I built a flood and drain table for my early Veg plants (Less room needed) and wanted to reclaim the DS200 I am using over it and put it to use in a 2x4 tent with the room I free up.

So my question is how much watts total would I need for a 2'x2' space?

Or scrap this idea and order some t5's for the coverage...........

I vegged with 6 - 23w over each plant and did very well.

That's about 100W/sqft, so you'd need 400 watts.

T-5 HOs have close to 100 lumens/watt while CFLs are closer to 70 ... but T-5s cost more ...

Wow....... That's way more power than anticipated! Maybe I should order a Reflector 48x3 and same some power?

Also, keep in mind that this is early veg...... From Clone to 5" netpots for 3-4 weeks veg max them moved under 4 foot t5's in 5 gallon Oxypots for later Veg and finally under LED's for GLR and filling in the SCROG in the Flower Tent......... "If" that helps

Yeah, that helps. I'd still recommend 50-70 W/sqft though - more like 250-300 watts CFL, or 150-200 watts T-5.

25-30 W/sqft would work for LED, around 100 watts for 2x2.
