The citation is a misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of a $100 fine.
At about 5 p.m., TSA screeners at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport discovered three bags of marijuana on Martin, officers said.
Baltimore Ravens spokesman Kevin Byrne said Martin has denied that the incident occurred.
Martin was a sixth-round draft pick in 2006 out of Wyoming.
He's expected back in court next month.
