<img src="https://www.420magazine.com/gallery/data/1073/user0043.gif" align=left>Officers said they arrested a New Bern man Friday afternoon after he walked into the police station with marijuana in his pants pocket.

He is Marvin Eugene Sparrow, 57, of 922 Elm St.

Sparrow walked in the front lobby of the New Bern police station about 1:30 p.m. He asked for a copy of paperwork from a previous offense.

Several employees found Sparrow's name on a list of outstanding warrants and told officers. Sparrow walked toward the door when two officers told him there was a warrant for his arrest on charges of property damage.

Officers said they handcuffed Sparrow and found marijuana in his pocket. He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and damage to property. He was released and is scheduled to be in court July 25.
