Rifleman's - DIY 27 Gal Tote DWC Part 1

I put on my fabricator hat this morning and got to work on my 27 gal tote dwc Capn Style. I used step drill bits to put 0.75" holes in the side, insert grommet and elbow and there you have a air inlet and nutrient aerator. One hole directly in the center of the lid, a stick with a rivet, boom now there is a 10" templet for the plunge router. A four inch hole saw rounds out the cutting. A little plastic primer in a dark color for the lid. I'll use Kilz on the lid tomorrow to make it white.

The rest of the parts are in route. Hopefully I'll have it complete with 10" basket and 5.8 gal air pot by Friday! I'll take more photos as it comes together so you can see how easy it really is. Enjoy and, Peace !

what size pump would you use? what way are you dispersing the feed ie dripping or spray or what?

Hey Rifleman! I can't replay to your PM (something about too few posts), so I'm replying here.

Just took a peek at the blog, looks like exactly what I'm looking for in my next dwc! Thanks for the info, I appreciate all the help you dish out around here. BTW, I was wondering if you have any tips on pre-flower pruning, especially for scrog. I know I didn't trim properly and I want to make sure I get it right next time around.

Sorry i am such at noob at this. what are the fittings for? what will you hook to them? is this a recirculating setup? wheres the pump go? any links that show you how to setup a recirculating dwc? or if you dont mind explaining how your setup works. right now i just have an airstone in mine. :( like to a an extra tank outside the grow room. ive researched havent found nothing but pics, nothing that really explains it. ty

Take a look at the photos in part 2 of this build. The elbow fittings get blue tubing for water level indicators, and it's where I inject the air into my system since I don't use air stones. All simple dwc, no rdwc to it. :)
