Strains I Ordered Through Castle Seeds

1x TH Seeds - A-Train - Feminized
Classification: Indica (50%)/sativa (50%)
Growing Environment: Indoor/outdoor
Garden Skills: Intermediate
Flowering Time: 7 - 9 weeks
Yield: Moderate
Medical Uses: Migraines, pain relief, arthritis, glaucoma, nausea, anxiety, depression
Breeder: TH Seeds

A-Train tastes sweet, tangy and fruity like Trainwreck, with an added hash and skunk flavor. The effect is very dream-like and somewhat trippy, usually lasting around an hour-and-a-half.

This extraordinary strain comes to us from legendary breeder, TH Seeds. An F1 hybrid, it’s preceded by Mazar-I-Sharif (father) and Arcata Train wreck (mother). While she takes on many of the growing traits of her mother, such as requiring much support throughout growth, the Afghani indica has added some bushiness, allowing her to fill out somewhat. She grows all over the place to say the least, and at times seems more like ivy than cannabis. Amazingly, when cultivated indoors, if she is forced to flower at 1 foot in height, she will finish at an astounding 4 to 5 feet. She has a flowering period of 7 - 9 weeks, usually around the 8 week mark. For the best flavor, she should be grown organically in soil. For a higher yield, a hydroponics set-up is recommended.

The first inhale of A-Train sends your taste buds into a system overload of citrus, spice, hash and eucalyptus, and is followed by an extremely relaxing and balanced high. This is an extremely effective strain of medical cannabis and is recommended for treating migraines, depression, minor aches and pains, arthritis, anorexia and more. Enjoy this bud for around $45 an eighth at most dispensaries.

1x Green House - Super Lemon
Haze - Feminized

Grade: A

Type: Sativa-dominant Hybrid, (Lemon Skunk x Super Silver Haze) from Green House Seeds

Price: $50/8th

Appearance: (9/10) This sample was a beautiful tight nug with a medium green color and neon orange pistils. A very tight manicure and copious trichome coverage completed the excellent appearance package. The trichomes were also perfect, with some ambers but mostly cloudy heads. The only knock was that we spotted a few tiny immature seeds.

Aroma: (8.5/10) Now this is a lemon strain — it reminds us of “Lemonheads” candy — a sweet/sour combination, but wholly lemon. It wasn’t super-pungent, and that made us just want to smell it more.

Taste: (9/10) Again, amazing lemon qualities here, with that same sweet and sour tang, this time rather pungent. The Haze side is evident in the flowery aftertaste, but this one just screams lemon. The other notable quality is that the smoke was one of the smoothest around… no inclination to cough at all. It burned to a very light gray ash, indicating a great flush.

Effects: A strong tingling feeling allover the body and up around the head/face, low and buzzy eyes, the “phantom hat” feeling started this one off — a potent Sativa ride to begin things. With burning eyes, attention was fixed on one thing at a time, as other distractions fell by the wayside. This seems like it would be a good creative strain for focus-oriented activities. The body feelings subsides about 1.5 hours in, leaving the eye feeling behind as well as a strong appetite. Calm and cool to finish, this was a standard Sativa up-then-down arc.

Duration: Long, 2.5 – 3+ hours

Medicinal Traits: (We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY) Great focus and attentive mindset, appetite stimulation, body relaxation towards the end, and possible ocular relief.

Overall: We loved the “super” lemon qualities of this strain, one of the most lemony we’ve encountered for sure. The ultra-smooth and enjoyable smoke just put it over the top, making this one a top recommendation for those patients who love taste and ease of smoking. But beyond that, it provided a quality focus and a buzzing energy throughout the body, eventually subsiding to a mellow and relaxed state. The long duration and above-average peak potency make this a no-brainer choice if it’s in stock at Tree of Life. Superb strain and grow all-around.

1x Green House - Chemdog - Feminized
This is a strain review from medicalmarijuanablog.com:

The folk history behind the Chemdog strains is a tale worth the telling:

It was 1991 and Grateful Dead were appearing at Deer Creek Amphitheatre, cannabis breeder, Chemdog, met up with joebrand and pbud in the parking lot and they sold him an ounce of weed for $500. Contact details were exchanged and it was arranged to ship two more ounces of the weed to Chemdog on the east coast.

The way Chemdog tells it is: one ounce was seedless and the other had 13 seeds. It was from these thirteen seeds that a legend grew; the Chemdog strain reputedly boasts some of the most superior cannabis clones in the USA.

Chemdog planted four of his thirteen seeds: one was male and trashed; the remaining three females became Chemdawg (now referred to as 91 Chemdawg), Chemdawg a (now Chemdawg’s Sister), and Chemdawg b.

Move forward by a decade to 2001, and we find Chemdog and his girlfriend germinating (or attempting to germinate) three more seeds. With remarkable creativity, the three new seeds were labeled c, d, and e; e didn’t germinate and c was rubbish, only d turned out to be any good. Four more were germinated in 2006, from which came the Reunion strain. And now there are two seeds left in Chemdog’s stash.

As if to reinforce the legendary status of this weed, unless you live in New York City it is very difficult to obtain.

1x Barney's Farm - Red Dragon - Feminized

From: Barney’s (Coffee Shop)

Grade: A

Type: Hybrid

Price: Appx. $10/Gram

Looks: Awesome. Really tight lime green nugs covered in wild orange hairs.

Smell: Very strong/danky pine smell with a hint of fruit.

Taste: Strong thick smoke that leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. You know your smoking good stuff.

Buzz Type: The buzz from Red Dragon snuck up on me. I smoked a little in my pipe before leaving Barney’s to go roll up the rest and it took a bit to hit me. Definite creeper.

Buzz Length: Long. In my opinion the best thing about Red Dragon is how long it kept me high.

Overall: A great bud from a great shop. The next time I am in Amsterdam, Red Dragon is definitely on my short list of buds to smoke again. A Marijuana Reviews Top Pick!

1x Barney's Farm - L.D - Feminized

Indica / Sativa
Origins - Mazar x Skunk #1
Flowering - 55-65 days

It doesn't take a detective to figure out how L.D got its name. This variety lets marijuana;s freak flag fly, bringing out pot's most psychedelic qualities. The Mazar parent is a strain that was probably known by name a decade ago, when it was newer to the scene. Mazar has often been compared with the better known White Widow for the cimilarities in plant and bud structure and effects. Both strains are indica-sativa hybrids, although Mazar is more indica heavy, as suggested by the name, which references the presence of Afghani in the parentage and comes from the name af Afghanistan's fourth largest city, Mazar-e-Sharif.

Barney's Farm Seed Bank used these long established genetics in combination with the versatile Skunk #1 to create the L.D variety. These parents have passed along many of their strengths. L.D is a hardy, disease-resistant plant that thrives in nearly all reasonable growing conditions. These plants stay light to medium green with leaves that split the difference between sativa and indica thickness. Flowering takes 8 to 9 weeks. At first the L.D plant may seem dense with foliage, but the buds soon outshine the vegetation. L.D buds form slightly curved corkscrew triangles with large stacked calyxes and a profusion of burnished hairs. While plants remain fairly compact and can be staked or grown successfully in a sea of green, L.D also delivers satisfying yields as a multi-branch plant, often reaching 600 grams per square meter. When grown outdoors, L.D plants finish in mid-September.

The L.D flavor mixes a slightly nutty and earthy palate with a dank sweet muskiness. Best of all, L.D lives up to its name, delivering a vivid, euphoric experience that stands out from the typical indica stone. While the body high has depth, the strongest sensation is the super trippy psychedelia that will blow the cobwebs out of the corners of your mind. This strain is great in a stimulating environment. Music, food, and colorful imagery will all be enhanced under its influence. However, overindulgence or overly hectic situations may cause a sense of being overwhelmed so it can be good to stay somewhere that also offers a sense of comfort and safety. Medical users have recommended this strain for nausea, anxiety, depression, and headaches.

Winner of the 2008 Cannabis Cup in the Indica Category
