It's the only way I'm doing it from now on for sure. Down with the government paper towels!! And good vibes on the light, situation. I wasn't sure so I kept the bowl covered with..well, crap..Paper towels. Haha.

They sparked the interest in us all! We did Avocado seeds once with toothpicks over water in like 3rd or 4th grade. That was really cool. If Avacado trees grew where I live now, I'd totally do that again! :D:D

Haha, right! I'm that way too. But it didn't even cross my mind as I scooped up spare soil from the big girls box.. expensiveish mistake. Luckily the free White Widows that came with my order are 3 for 3 thanks to everyones help. Def will check out I49 seeds, thanks for the suggestion!!

Well guys, the water bowl trick ended up being the bees knees. Went straight from the bowl into seedling soil. So far 2 for 2. 1 more yet to surface. Appreciate all the tips!!

Bo, you ain't kidding! I burned up $60 worth of seeds so far and the only ones even remotely coming to life are the "freebies" they gave me. I use peat for all my normal veggies, why not for my favorite veggie?? Like you said, always did it with a paper towel, always worked. But needless to say...
