well over fertilizing usually looks like a burn on the tips and edges of new and old leaves. In hydroponics between 600-800ppm of nutrients is good while vegetating, and in flowering I use no higher than 1200 ppm.
edit: I should mention, the more light you have, the more nutrients the plant...
I've tried molasses in dwc, its a BAD idea, everything was going great, plants were perfectly healthy, I just wanted a little more flavor, added about a tablespoon of molasses to a 5 gallon res., next day I check the plant, it looks like hell, I check the reservoir and there is foam bubbling up...
if heat isn't an issue, and you just want to exchange air and need to know what size fan you will need. I just estimate the size of the room in cubic feet so 2' x 4' x 6' is pretty close give or take a few inches so multiply those numbers and you get 48 cubic feet, you only need to exchange that...
I would avoid trimming the roots especially if your flowering. I would get a filter bag for the pump to keep the roots out of it, and get an air pump and air stone to put in the water under the roots to keep them oxygenated.
Well, I only sprayed the foliage with the soda water, I've been using Deep Water Culture, and I wouldn't even think about adding it to my reservoir. Soil is a lot more accepting when it comes to adding sugars, molasses, and whatever else, still I don't think watering with soda water would have...
it was just plain soda water, nothing special. if you want to try this method, spray some on a easy to clean surface and let it dry first to see if it leaves a residue.
they sell corn sugar at the store, I got a bag in the kitchen. they have em because it's sweeter and easier for diabetics to eat, low-calories too. do you think I could warm up a 1 cup of water on the stove and add like 2 tablespoons of fructose stir it in to dissolve, then (after it cools)...
Hey I've never tried this, but is it possible to constantly flower a plant, like lose the nutrients for awhile to harvest the buds, then put the nutrients back on it and start growing more buds?
I was thinking about heat issues as well, I only have 60 cfm moving threw the cabinet which is 3' by 3' by 6'. anyway the temp is on average 90 degrees in there, and the top of it did get burned from the light, but I have raised it since, the roots of the plant are huge, but the plant itself...
