wasn't sure where to put this... anyway..

I was wondering, is there such thing as a 10,000 + watt ballast? Basically, is there a ballast that you could, say, plug 10 1000w lights into instead of using 10 separate ballasts? If there is such a ballast, is it cost effective; at what point does it become cost effective -- at 10 lights, 20, 50, ...100?

-- what is the purpose of a ballast, besides regulating the proper amount of electricity going to the bulb? Could a large ballast be built to accommodate several lights?

your best bet is to get something like this
Exolux Super Six - 6 x 600 Watt Timer Contactor

I'm not an electrician and unless you are i would not mess about with such a high volts plus iv'e never heard of such a ballast.
But this product or any other like it will help you too run alot of lights without any electrical mishaps

yes darw adiagram figure out if you wont to run paralle or seires but if you have no electric trainning i would not recommend you to do this.
