1st time grower help please

im new to this and would appreciate any helpfull tips or tricks
i have a grow tent with fan,extractor fan and filter ect.
im using a slow release multi nutrient soil with a 600hps bulb which i have 1.7 feet above the vegetated seeds and i was wondering if this set up is any good?? any help or tips would be great

just keep it simple first time,

do you have a ph reader?
what temps/ rh you got in your tent

no pics yet waiting on my m8 to bring camera
got ph tester kit
the tent temps about body temp (i left thermometer in living room and cat bust it so going to get new one tomorrow)
only growing for me and my m8 so most plants growing at 1 time will be 5 plants

no worries, im from scotland aswell bud, room temps should be between 70 an 80 f. should buy yourself a digital thermometer n rh meter rh should be uite high during veg n quite low during flower, liquid meter is ok but should buy a didital one its more accurate, ph should be between 6.3 n 6.8 in soil
