I am using bottles and I am growing out of my rez and noticed a difference in plant growth with the bottle touching the roots. I put a pvc pipe for the bottle to slide into and solved that issue.

A good idea on the pvc sleaves.

I have a gallon of nuted water in the frig and drain a gallon out of my res and put the cold gallon in. It cools the res more evenly.
