Bulb Manufacture Comparisons

I'm looking to purchase a new bulb for my 400w MH. My local supplier has these three bulbs in stock:

SunMaster Warm Delux 400W MH ~ $60

Agrosun Gold 400W MH ~ $60

Hortilux Blue 400W MH ~ $110

I've heard good things about the Hortilux...but I'm not sure if the $50 difference makes it a thrifty choice.

Has anyone had any experience using any of these specific bulbs?

I used the $7.00 bulb from Home Depot and had great results. I grow more than I use so I never felt a need to try different bulbs or the desire to spend the extra bucks. Except floros at the beginning of my indoor experience. Wish I could say something that helped. I'm sure some one else who has tried these other bulbs will chime in.

Yeah my last bulb was nothing special - it came with the lamp. I've have satisfactory results but now that I've had a few grows with that bulb I'm due for a replacement. Will a $10 MH bulb from growdepot w/o any red spectrum suffice or will I really reap the benefits from spending a little more $$$. I grow for personal use but the more I produce the less often I need to grow.

Hortilux bulbs are good....Not worth the extra money though. From my experience a full spectrum of light during veg creates a more "stacked" plant. However a blue/green spectrum alone is still great.
