A California man is in jail in Bucks County after police found 425 pounds of marijuana in a rented U-Haul truck, Bensalem police said yesterday.
Jose Hernandez, 32, of Los Angeles, was arrested Thursday after police, responding to a tip, pulled him over on Street Road in Bensalem.
Hernandez allegedly had flown to Philadelphia, rented a truck, and picked up 20 cartons of shrink-wrapped bricks of marijuana from a freight company off State Road. The marijuana, flown in from California, had a street value of more than $2 million.
Hernandez is in the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post $1 million bail.
