CBP Border Patrol Seizes More Marijuana

On September 14, 2005 a Customs and Border Protection aircraft spotted a vehicle concealed in the brush near Fresnal Canyon, 13 miles southwest of Arivaca. Border Patrol Agents responded to the location as relayed by the aircraft. There they discovered the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle contained 70 bundles of marijuana. The marijuana was transported to the Tucson Station for processing.

The total weight of the marijuana was 1,437.10 lbs. valued at $1,147,680.00. U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control, and protection of our Nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry.

CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
