Cleaning leaves, white powder from humidifier

Can you gently clean your plants leaves (in veg). I was in a hurry to get my tent set up and used tap water in my ultrasonic humidifier and there is a fine white dust on my plant’s leaves. Is it safe to use a clean soft damp cloth to wipe the powder off?

Is it really bad?
I had plaster/ filler dust on one of my plants once. I was decorating and the tent sucked all the dust in. I just gently sprayed them with distilled water and wiped away the rest. It didnt seem to trouble the plant at all.
As long as you are nice and gentle. There shouldn't be any problems

Yep, but better to just mist with rainwater/distilled water until it runs off

I don't know about rain water. As it contains dust and pollution in some areas. My car gets white marks on it after it rains.

That's very honest of you. Some folks edit there entire post after you've replied and it ends up making you look like a right Wally..

Thanks - I will mist them with distilled water - it’s not too bad.

The spray bottle should wash most of it off anyway. The plaster/filler dust was an adhesive, so it took awhile to wipe off. But you should be good with just the spray.
