Three men were arrested this morning at the Delaware state line after a drug-detection dog named Zimm reportedly turned a routine traffic stop into a drug bust.

Troy Lee Neal, 28, and John Eric Redden, 25, both of Elkton, Md., and Gary Eugene Earl Jr., 23, of Townsend, were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after police reportedly found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

At about 4:45 a.m., Maryland State Police Cpl. R. Connolly pulled over a 2003 Suburban, driven by Neal, for speeding on U.S. 301 north at the Kent County/Queen Anne’s County, Md., line.

Connolly searched the vehicle after, during the course of the traffic search, Zimm scanned the vehicle and alerted him that drugs were present, according to police reports.

As a result of the investigation, $1,434 was seized by the Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force.
