Fan leaves - keep them or cut them?

ive heard the fan leaves photosyn. the bud so it needs it then i here cut the big fan leaves so the bud takes all the good stuff.... SO DOES THE PLANT GROW BUGGER BUDS WITH OR WITH OUT THE FAN LEAVES and i know the fan leaves also protect the bud from the sun but but but but i left mine cuz im growing outside in arizona

The plant needs them for photosynthesis, and in your circumstance a bit of shading might even be welcome. Fan leaves also hold nutrients in storage for when the plant needs them.

Ditto on what @Sueet said! Outdoors in AZ you probably need all the shade you can get.
