i live in the north of Scotland, the river Spey is on my doorstep, as far as I know its very clean as its a salmon river and they look after it a lot, there are a few berns that flow into it also from the mountains with very clear water, would there be any negatives/positives in using it?

Only way to know for sure is take a sample and let it warm up to room temp then check with a ph/tds meter. Really do like the idea.

Should be OK, but you never really know unless you have a professional mineral analysis done on it. I'd get that done, then you know for sure.
