Well i got a call today and my clones are showing up tonight like it or not.

I dont have my room together so i guess they will go outside.i have almost
unlimited area outdoors.

So any way there are a couple grow shops here but it is on the other side
of town if i go to a nursery and they ask what am i growing what mirrors
a mj plant??

I am going this weekend to buy most of my stuff .Im not wealthy but money
is not a huge factor. Is one brand PH meter better than the others (I have
read Rosemans info on them)

I would assume keeping them in pots would be a better deal for soil control??
Also i have read some different opinons but is there much problem going from
outdoor to indoor with the same plant.
The guy bringing the clones has grown some decent weed but all indoors
so i dont know how much he knows about outdoor .Dam another week or so i would have been good for inside.
Thanks guys i cant believe how cool everyone here is.

tomatoe plant.

and keep the plant indoors. get the biggest lights you have in the house and keep the clones under them until you get to the grow shop to buy legit lights.

lowes sells CFLs, y adapters, and socket to plug adapters that you can make your own dangling fixtures from. (pics in my sig if interested)

Thanks .I have a buddy has some hps i dont know what watt i will grab
them for tonight.

Or stop at HD and grab some cfl s are they just a reg light or are they
made special for growing .Man i feel dumb i have never grown anything.

they make these ones called "daylight" bulbs, i believe they are 5500k. those work great.

:goodluck: if you have questions, just ask.

Well i picked up the plats .Um little bigger than was told i have one that
he cloned that is a goo its about 10" tall very thick looks healthy and a 4
other cross strains he did they are from seed. they range from 12 '' to 16''
and seem to be more stretched out .1 has the bottom leaves drooping bad.
But fti they were still in very small starter pots,Have since been replanted.

I took a trip to the grow shop got a bunch of stuff i needed soil fert and all
wound up with a 1000w HPS .i still have them under the cfls for now .I am
having a problem here trying tp get it cool enough were i want to put them.
it is on of those sheds like you have outside for a lawn mower .I have sectioned a place off about 6'x8' I even have a small ac unit and it is still
way hot like upper 90s yesterday i got some reflective bubble wrap and stapled
it to the walls .I am going to try a vent in the gable with a fan.It has no roof
vents at all now. What is about the warmest i can keep it and still grow ok

Thanks

Sounds like your buddy gave you a decent batch of clones he did'nt have room for but did'nt want to see them go to waste. Congats on the nice score!
You want to keep your temps somewhere betwwen 75 and 85 for a good healthy crop.
If you can air cool your lamp that will help alot. You may also want to consider using an active intake for your fresh air and move two to three times the shed's air capacity every minute or so.
Better get out the sawsall Bro! You'll need at least one intake and one exaust to move the air in and out.
I'm sure some more members will chime in to help you out too. :goodluck:

Air cool lights for sure!

also need to make sure the AC is installed right. keeping both intakes and outputs separate adn vented to the proper space. what kind of AC is it? window, portable, split?

You can also help things a lot by adding sheet foam insulate the inside of the shed with a high "R" factor. increase its effectiveness by creating an airspace between the wall (and especially roof) of shed and the foam by using 1"x2" lumber to create a gap.

Thanks i will go get some foam.Yesterday we were about to have very bad storms so i didnt want to put the foam in the back of the truck.(stoned) i
was afraid they would blow out and break .About half hour to the store.

The ac unit is a stand alone deal it has a 4'' vent on the back for the hot air.
i put a hole in the wall and ran some dryer vent to it .I have to put a vent in the gable front and back maybe with a small fan.

The light fixture i have is sealed and has a 6'' inlet and 6'' outlet i still have to
make those holes .

Another question how much air do you guys have going over the ladies like
a gentle breeze or enough to make the leaves move around.
Also i have all the stuff to put co2 in the room but as it is kinda open is it
worth doing.Dude fills my 30lb tank for 7$ i could use a bigger one but it gets heavy lugging the big ones around.
Thanks

You can run your light on it own air duct line. Install it so the blower pulls the air off the lamp and evacuates the hot air.
With the co2 you can seal the room, laden it with the co2 between 1200 &1500 ppm and circulate the warm air with the ac. If your ac has a thermostat it will make controlling the temps easy.
For odor you can use Rosies Diy bucket and you should be set!
DIY Odor Control Bucket

For air movent a nice gentle breeze from the floor up along with a soft cross breeze is good. Just enough so the leaves fingers dance. You dont want the plants to get bashed by high powered fans.

Thanks Orangblood .After doing more reading .One of Roaemans post i
kinda figured it out with co2 i can run the heat a little higher.

Was so dang hot over the weekend i couldnt even stand working in there.
I am trying to keep the doors shut to keep from someone seeing what
i am doing .It has cooled down some today,I got a timer that has 2 outlets
so 1 for the light and 1 for the light fan i have a 6'' fan for the light but i
think it is not enough cfm . Hopefully tonight i will have my vents in place
and this by the weekend have the room finished.

Um one dumb question i have a decent ph meter and got some calibration
solution .Got that all worked out got my tap water from 7.4 to 6.9.
is there a way to check the soil or do you even have to worry about it,
It is sunshine mix and we added some extra perlite and a little vermiculite.
Thanks

These usually draw in air from inside the room to run over the hot side to exhaust. That expelled air has to be refreshed from outside, so warm air is pulled in through the cracks and into the grow room. It would be way better if you could isolate the different air paths and use an isolated intake duct for the hot air intake, while leaving the cool air to recirculate inside.

You are right Snow bender i have thought about this .It will make it hard to seal
up the room . i have a small window unit that brings in fresh air to blow
across the condenser BUT i dont want to hang one out the side unless i
have to.There is a narrow space between a big garage and the one i am
using to hide it but if you looked between them it would seem odd to have
a ac unit running in a lawn mower shed.

Maybe i can look at thiis thing and see if i can separate the air.

Thanks

if its like mine, once you get the front panel off there are two finned radiators. one is hot one is cold. use foil backed foam board to make a box over the hot one and connect that to its own outside vent well away from the other exhausts.

The same idea can be allied to a window unit placed entirely inside the grow, you just need to make two ducts for the part that would be outside. one hot out, one hot in. I saw a nice thread on how to do it, but I think it was on another site. :p

Thanks Snowbender i think i will bring the unit back into my work garage and
take the plastic off .I have a good idea on ac stuff i work on a lot of it
on cars .I also have a small brake press and shear from doing race car
aluminum work.

Seems like a stupid idea the way it is made to vent hot air out and not
have a place to get fresh air.In theory it should have as much coming in as going out.

I just have the plants were it is cool and have 4 100w cfls over them now
you dont think this will hurt them for a week do you.

With all that mechanical type experience , I bet you can whip something up in a few hours..or less...with the right medication of course-

:roorrip:

Thanks i got your pm i tried to send you one but i need 50 post :bong:
anyway i didnt mess with it last night but there is a air intake on the back
and i am thinking this is were the air for the condensor come in if so i can
duct it from outside the room to feed it. Thanks.
