Fire Believed Cause of Growing Operation

Members of the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment RCMP responded to a fire believed to be associated to a marijuana growing operation in the area of Beach Camp Road in Agassiz on Sunday night.

At around 10 p.m. an investigation confirmed that the property's sheds were being used for growing marijuana, which is believed to be the cause of the fire.

A warrant was subsequently obtained, resulting in the seizure of 400 plants.

A 55-year-old male was arrested at the residence for production of a controlled substance. Charges are pending and the investigation is continuing.
