First Grow - 3 x Candy Kush Autos - 400W

Amen to that man. The worlds lacking in people like you these days! People in today's society are, generally speaking out for themselves (well in my experience anyways). It not often you meet someone willing to help someone off the niceness of their own back. karma will be good to you!

On a greener note, she's continuing to bulk out and is still throwing out silly amounts of sugar. Going to give her another feed later to keep her hydrated. I've noticed that since flowering's started her water intakes has gone through the roof!

A great observation!! If you think about it the plant needs the extra uptake in water to continue to increase it's biomass and resin. It's also is continuing that draw of energy stored in the roots to fuel the entire process. It will slack off as it slides into senescence. Now just like a lot of females of different she wonders why she hasn't been pollenated...... she assumes she needs to try harder...as a result she puts out all of that glorious resin that her genetics and mother nature allows. As she begins to slide off that water usage back way off on what you give her. Reduce the frequency of the waterings... this will stress her a little and increase resin production...follow these periods with thorough flushings. then let her get thirsty again. Again, every man naturally thinks that his way is the best, and there are a number of opinions on how to handle a plant in it's final days. This is what I have found gives the best final results for me. You have done great!

Cheers man and thanks again for the fascinating info! :) Your'e totally bang on with what you were saying, her water intake has really decreased the past couple of days and her buds are really beginning to fatten out. Safe to say that's her entered/ing the senescence phase now? I'm going to follow up on everything you've advised that I do. Its evident you really know your stuff and if its worked for you then its a given for me! Again, thanks for sharing all this information with me mate,Its really appreciated. I can't wait to build upon my own knowledge of cultivating so that I can help people the way you do.

Hope everyone's well!

Some snaps for good measure.
Day 66, can really see her pistils beginning to darken now. Going to begin the 14 day flush from the next feed onwards. Thinking she'll be ready for the chop chop in about 2 weeks after a 2 day dark period. You's reckon?

You're getting some great advice, ride her home nice and easy, with a lil stress for good measure. Nice work, get ready for some great smoke ;)

Any of the leaves that are yellowed can go. just snap them off at the stem. Take leaf stem and all. The plant actually is creating an abscission layer of cells cutting those leaves off from the plant. If you want to check it our just tie a string around one fan leaf that is just starting to turn yellow. Now watch that leaf every day for the next 3 or 4 days. You will watch that plant cut that leaf off. Remember as the plant slides towards senescence it will reduce it's photosynthetic processes continually. Best of luck!

I say, clear all the yellow leaves that are blocking light that would shine on bud sites. Other than that just leave the leaves as they are they will eventually fall on their own- the plant does not need them/are not getting enough light, so she is geting rid of them by eating them-they get yellow and fall off. I hope you understand what i try to say. Happy growing man, your girl is looking happy and awesome.

Thanks for all the advice idochronic, uptheholler, and tomula and sorry for taking so long to get back you all, studying has completely taken over my life at the moment....3 more weeks then I'm freeeeeeee! Hope everyone's well :) .

I finally got round to giving her that haircut. The amount of dried out yellow leaves i took from her was crazy! Nothing new to report really, gave her a second flush with plain water PH'd water last night & all seems cool. Literally counting the seconds down until harvest but I'm still pretty unsure when to chop. She's still throwing out fresh white pistils, and her buds have started to really fatten/firm out the past few days or so. Last thing i wanna do is harvest too early and end up with really crappy smoke. I've ordered a jewelers magnifying glass so i can see what her triches are up to. Should be here the next couple days. Superrrrrrr exciteddddd!

Uptheholler: I did what you suggested and let her get really dry before I've watered her to stress her a little into producing more resin. My god did it work! You are legendary my friend. She's so much frostier than before....the pics really don't do it any justice!

Some Bud porn...
(Day 71, post haircut haha)

Have u Got a Microscope / loop ? cant member if i asked u before. If u do id give her a scan now and if theres amber lurking around at about 5-10% id chop a 1/3 of thoes leaves and give her another 3-6 days and hang to dry if that the potency ur looking for:thumb:
From here shes looks very close to done :high-five:

I ordered one the other day mate, should hopefully arrive any day now! I'll get onto that the moment it arrives. 50% amber and 50% clears meant to be ideal isn't it?
Really?....that's amazing to hear!....Feel as though I've been waiting years haha!

:thumb:

Good stuff:) well ideal is all cloudy with about 5%, clear is too early. If u look now realy close u might be able to roughly work out clear ones from amber ones if ther is any. Yup thats what i think now anyway hair look oranged up and the thc is shiny ( i think the shines to do with milky trichs ) <--- Answer the question there, if im correct:) I know the feeling hahah.
There is a main time to harvest, when the plants thc is most ripe and this happens for about 4-7 days near the end of harvest. I hink the key is 5-10 or 15% amber and shell probley be most smelly then :yummy:

I've just had a look there man, it's pretty hard to tell but I can definitely make out parts of the plant that appear to be more milky than others. Judging by eye the most part of the buds appear to be clear. I'll need to wait until this magnifying glass arrives first to I can be certain. Definitely no amber triches though. I've noticed that parts of her bud are slowly turning a really nice purple colour, looks really nice! Thanks for sharing you knowledge with me bro, dunno where I'd be without everyone on this forum with all the help I've received. :thanks:

P.S.She stinks already.....controlling the smell is proving rather difficult! :rollit:

In the immortal words of the legendary entertainer Fred Flintstone, " Yabba Dabba Doo!" She is looking absolutely fantastic. Have you noticed where you remove a leaf that is shading a flower, how the flower begins to swell after about 24 hours. It's not a tremendous addition in weight but to me every little bit counts when you get this close to the end.

You have done a simply wonderful job my friend!

Hahaha thanks alot man :)....Seriously can't wait to try!

Yeah totally, there was a few popcorn buds towards the bottom end of the her that i was considering giving the chop when i took the yellow leaves away the other day because they looked buggered. I decided against it n boy am i glad!...They've really fattened out, just like you said and they're throwing out nice sugars too. All of her buds and the leaves surrounding them are slowly turning purple...it looks stunning! Did some reading last night to try find out the cause. Think it might maybe be something to do with low night time temps? Will this do her any harm you reckon?

Thinking to harvest in 8-12 days. Still thinks she's got some more ummphhh in her yet!

Thanks again man!

Did u have a quick sample taster from the popcorns ? U can always half harvest the best bit and leave the pops longer:) The purpling is no problem i dont think, iv heard its to do with the cold to and that another reason shes surgering up to so iv read. The plant give out more CBD i think to keep warm or what ever she does when it get colder:) Id say she will dence up to, in a week or so and then shes all urs lol

Hey GT! Ok for the most part.... the majority of the time purpling of the plant is caused by the following conditions. Almost all of these will be most notable towards the end of the life cycle. They are the following, in no intended order.

-You are correct cooler night time temps encourages color enhancement. Notice that I say "enhancement". That is because for the most part those pigmentations are there, just not apparent during more active photosynthesis. There are some more physiological changes but it's not necessary to go into that now. Do you know why?? ......... (Holler asks with baited breath)...... Because you are getting really close to harvesting some stinking good weed and you don't need to fill your head with that gooble-dee- gook right now!!

- The next situation that you need to consider in any color change at the late stages of life are of course simply genetic. Red,Yellow, Purple and the list goes on. With more people growing the chances for more unique varieties, as well as mutant, "sports", is increasing exponentially. The cauldron ,cauldron boil and bubble stirring of the genetic soup, as it were.

- Now we also found in the 70's and 80's that if you are growing outside and added a cup or so of Triple Super Phosphate into the hole and mixed it in at the bottom. It resulted in much more dramatic flower coloring ,as well as, arm sized colas.

-Those are the main methods for late color development. I will mention that there are always more claims from lighting companies that they have lights that make colors develop quicker of more dramatically the same with fertilizer blends.

I am glad to see that you are seeing that little explosion in bud size from pruning and forcing the plants remaining where you want it to be focused. Lastly ( and this is a personal decision based upon the cost of production and the law of diminishing returns ) You can remove only the top colas in the first harvest. Simply cut the stems right above the bud directly below. Flush again and watch her become desperate to reproduce. Those bottom nugs will swell again and glisten with resin as she again thinks that something is wrong with her so she wants to make certain that she catches any stray pollen. In a last ditch effort to reproduce this is also the kind of stressing that can cause her to shoot out a male flower. ( trigger hermaphroditic tendencies ).

Now one last question, have you picked out a good chair and have you started to bolt on a seat belt? I would also recommend a small refrigerator fully stocked, new batteries in the remote control, papers and a new lighter. Emergency phone numbers left in conspicuous places. And a bicycle helmet. Ok that should cover it...... Oh yeah turn off your cell phone and have a blast! You earned it!

Alrighty! :D

Really sorry for not getting an update up any sooner everyone, I've had my head engrossed in study books and work the past 3 weeks and then I was away for a few days celebrating finishing/passing exams for the summer. I hope everyone's keeping well and i can't wait to catch up on all the green action I've been missing out on!

Right, Don't even know where to start here, I've literally so much to talk about haha.....

I harvested and trimmed her flowers on the 22nd of June and hung her up to dry in the tent that she grew in. (found a new use for coat hangers, hah). Didn't really see the point in recording a wet weight at that time because i figured she'd lose a lot of weight over the next few days. Once the buds were nice and crispy (not too crispy) and the stalks were beginning to lose their flexibility and would kind of snap I took her down, Chopped her flowers into more manageable sized buds and decanted them into glass curing jars, and that's where they remained for the next couple of weeks until i had the humidity down in the jars to around 45%. (Waiting was killer but it was so worth it. the smell coming from those jars at the end of curing was heavenly)! I knew I'd pulled more off her than i'd initially predicated that i would (1 ounce) just by looking at her but i didn't expect what she actually gave me. 91 GRAMS!!! You were totally bang on the money uptheholler....a seat-belt is most definitely required when smoking this stuff! It has me, my mates, and my girlfriend literally glued to the couch after a couple spliffs,(the high's lovely and clean though). The taste is something else too. It tastes really skunky but has subtle sweetness too that actually reminds me of 'candy' hah! It's been a pleasure to grow this particular strain and I'd seriously recommend candy kush to anyone that's considering doing auto's!

Made Butter from a half ounce of flower, sugar leaf, and all her trim. (Wasted literally nothing from her whatsoever)
