Found 2 400w MH ballast

i found 2 high lighters(?) in my house, u guys think it could be used for growing? or would they get to hot?. im using CFL atm and i already started flowering.

one is plugged right now to see how hot it gets, the disarmed one doesnt have a long power cord so havnt tryed this one

to bad they arent hps.

im really new to this, could i use some of its components to make a hps ballast?
i bet if i wanna use them i probably would have to weld the sides and introduce some cooling

mh works for growing. Most growers use hps because they get more lumens per watt.

Mh and hps get hot. careful how close you put the plants.

yeah but isnt mh "bad" for flowering? are 2700k cfls better?. thats why i was wondering if i could maybe "convert" one to be able to use hps
