GrowAZ's First Grow Journal

Update 6/29/23

Both these Gals are doing great. I had a little spider mite problem onPlant #1 on 6/25. I took both plants out of the grow room and washed them upside down in the shower to wash off the bottom sides of the leaves. Following that I treated them with neem oil and then vacuumed out the grow room and super cleaned it. On 6/26 I trimmed off any leaves that had any sign of mites. There were definitely still some eggs on the leaves but no movement of any mites. Shorty never showed any signs of mites but being that she is in contact with plant #1 they both got the same treatment. On 6/27 Plant #1 got a feeding of Mid-Flower mix + ReCharge + Cal-Mag @ a PH of 6.3and also got sprayed with neem oil again just to be sure. nothing for plant #1 on 6/28 or 6/29. She is looking great and I haven't seen any mite sign as of yet. Now Shorty got the same treatment for spider mites but didn't get a feeding until 6/28 when she got Mid-Flower mix = ReCharge + Cal-Mag all @ a PH of 6.2. She is a shorter bushier plant so not a lot of light is getting to the bottom of the plant so I am trimming off popcorn buds quite often. Other than the spider mites these two girls are doing great. They are both super strong and sturdy and are getting loaded with trichomes. Here are some photos. Thanks for stopping by!

I may look into that, thanks
It's amazing how they just show up. I keep my set up so meticulously clean and keep a constant eye on the plants and yet........they still appear. I caught this one pretty early so only a couple leaves in one spot showed signs so I'm hoping they hadn't gotten too far from that location.

We're Back! I had a busy 4th of July week so I wasn't updating the journals. I keep a very detailed excel sheet with all my grow info on it but I was lacking in the journal entries so here is a little recap of the past 10 days...

SHORTY is doing well. Her leaves are looking good and the bud sites are as well. She is definitely small, most likely due to the stress of chopping her down to be a mother, and then well..plans change and she got thrown into flowering. Her leaves are just quite small and her buds are a little on the small side but the top colas are all looking pretty good. I haven't seen any sign of spider mites on her since our little invasion back on 6/25. She got a feeding of Mid-Flower mix + Cal-Mag with a PH of 6.0 on 7/3, on 7/4 I started to notice a few brown spots on the leaves and a bit of leaf curling. On 7/7 I gave her a Feeding of Mid-Flower + Cal-Mag and a PH of 6.3. I think the extra shot of Cal-Mag helped with he leaves because as of 7/10 her leaves are looking better. I'm not sure how long this lady needs to flower for but I think I have about 4-5 weeks left before harvest. Lots of crystals forming and tight dense buds.

PLANT #1 is doing pretty good. Her buds are frosty as could be and are growing bigger by the day. I figure she has about 4 weeks left if flowering before harvest. On 7/3 I started to notice some small brown spots on the leaves followed by a bit of leaf tip curling. On 7/4 she received a feeding with Late-veg mix with a PH of 5.8. On 7/5 I feel like the spots and curling were a little worse so now I was thinking more Cal-Mag. On 7/7 I watered with Cal-Mag only and upped the PH to 6.5. Skip forward to 7/10 and I feel that the leaves are looking a little better. Can't make the brown spots go away but they don't appear to be getting worse at an accelerated pace like they were. I'm really just hoping we can get through the next 4 weeks and keep the buds healthy cause they sure are looking tasty! I did have a thought that the brown spot may be a wind/heat burn as most of the damaged leaves are towards the top. My flower room tends to get up to 85º by the end of the light cycle and I recently installed a new oscillating fan in the room that definitely moves more air then my old one. I adjusted the fan so it is just blowing into a corner causing the air to circulate opposed to blowing over the leaves. Over all this has been a good plant. She has a good shape, lots of light penetration and air flow throughout. I haven't seen any sign of spider mites again which is nice. I will keep giving her a spray bath of RO water every other night which she seems to really enjoy. She just looks so happy the morning after a bath. Anyway I'll take some feedback thoughts on the brown spots and leaf curling but other than that we will just keep pushing for the finish line.

Here are some pics.
