Growing in soil - how drain the trays?

I have my girls in 1.5 gallon containers and they are sitting in a 4 x 8 tray. This may be a dumb question but what is the best way to get the surplus water out of the tray after I water?

Drill a hole in the tray and put a catch bucket/container underneath. If your tray is setting directly on the ground, elevate it enough to get a container underneath.

southern has it, if you need to flush and you will. You need to be able handle lots of water my tables are on cinder blocks with a plug so we can drain the runoff witout a mess. We put a piece of 3/4 ply on the blocks at one end 1/2 inch in the middel and the drain end is on the block. they drain well. Good luck with grow.
