I hope all our readers had a great Thanksgiving holiday. If your celebrations have left you a bit concerned about possible drug testing, let me give you the 411 on hair follicle tests.
Hair follicle testing is an expensive and accurate drug testing method. There is no way to test at home for this (you would need to have a sample tested by a lab). Once drug metabolites make their way into the hair follicle (which usually takes about 5-7 days after consumption), it is there FOREVER. The only way to get it out, is to cut your hair and cut away the history.
Drug metabolites are not only in your head hair, but ANY hair on your body. Although they prefer to take your head hair, if it is not long enough, they will take it from elsewhere. The standard amount of hair they need to do the test is about 1-1/2", which is about 90 days worth.
Most Labs have the same cut off levels when it comes to hair follicle testing. However in the last couple of years, 4 labs have drop their cut off to 0. Which means if you have anything in your hair you will fail. These 4 testing facilities are: Quest Diagnostics, Omega, Labcorp & psycamedic.
