A fundraising party for "Hemp for Sovereignty," a documentary work-in-progress chronicling a Lakota Indian's struggle to develop a hemp industry on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Alex White Plume is the first person in over 40 years to grow industrial hemp in the United States, but the DEA classifies it as illegal and is suing him.

Filmmakers Suree Towfighnia and Courtney Hermann invite you to The Subterranean on December 18th.

Watch a trailer for the film. Hear about Alex White Plume's legal case. Learn about the many uses for industrial hemp. Listen to live music. Win fabulous prizes (hotel stays in Puerto Rico and excellent holiday gifts). Enjoy delicious food and drink specials. We hope to see you there!
