Thieves have hit another medical marijuana collective in northern Michigan, this time at the Traverse City store called "CA".

Police say two young men got into the store by kicking open the backdoor sometime early Monday morning.

Once inside, the manager says the alarm sounded and he believes that's what scared them off.

"Nothing appeared to be touched," says Caleb Barr, Manager. "It was just a really quick thing and then they took off."

This break-in is the second in northern Michigan in the last month. Someone broke into a similar store near Cadillac in late December.

Police are concerned that criminal activity at these new stores will continue.

"We're going to have to watch," says Capt. Steve Morgan with the Traverse City Police Department. "It definitely is a substance that's wanted out there by certain individuals and they're willing to break the law to get it."

According to city records there are a total of seven medical marijuana collectives within the city limits in Traverse City.

The city commission is attempting to limit the number of collectives in the city at its next meeting.

Mayor Chris Bzdok was not aware of the latest break-in, but told 9&10 News the commission will be "watching any type of criminal activity closely."
