At the Statehouse, people with diseases of all kinds gathered to say there's only one thing that might help them: medical cannabis.

A bill that would expand access to legal cannabis oil to Iowans with diseases other than epilepsy is still alive in the statehouse this session.

Supporters called it a march for the sick and suffering.

"Why are we being held up with marijuana. It's ridiculous, it's time this gets passed. It's time it passes nationally," said Drew Merrifield, MS Patient.

Last year the Iowa Legislature passed a bipartisan medical cannabis decriminalization bill, but it was only for people with epilepsy.

But this group wants people with other diseases to be able to access cannibis oil, and to allow it to be grown and distributed here in Iowa.
