Island Tour x 5 - Afghan OG x 1

new grower here and first journal 100% legal in the beautiful sate of Colorado
set up: 55"x55"x79" agromax tent 1000 watt dimable digital ballast

reflector: big kahuna Measures 33 inches by 27 inches by 10 inches cooled by a 424 cfm fan which i will attach to a can fan filter during flower

using big boy hydroponic system 50 gall res and 3.5 gallon pots. I plan on using heavy 16 through entire grow
Right now in the res is heavy 16 roots 1ml/gallon. I am waiting for the first true leaves to form before giving any veg nutrients im thinking around 3-4 week mark.

afghan og: this clone is from craigslist 100% indica i was told.

also wanted to show a pic of this clones roots this was 2 days after using heavy 16 roots

before using heavy 16 roots this main root was half its size with no lateral branching.
i know there was some root rot as you can see at the top of the root. problem: light was to close to plants and the water at the bottom got way too hot. solution moved the lights up higher and added more fans.

The other 5 plants were started from seeds that where purchased at a dispensary in Denver strain: Island tour((Piña Colada [unknown sativa dominant genetics] x Phishhead Kush [OG Kush x Lowland Afghan])

Recommended Experience Level: Beginner-Intermediate

Overview: This Sativa-leaning hybrid produced tall plants with dense flowers that can smell of tropical fruit.

Yield: High, 400-800g/1000W

Flower time: 55-65 days

Growth Stature: Tall, long internodal spacing. Training of plants may be required depending on height limitations.

Nugget Type: Small dense, trichome covered flowers.

Traits to look for in ideal phenotype

Unique strain traits: Flowers that are densely covered in trichomes, and smell of tropical fruit.

Desired traits from the mother (Pina): unique flavor and aroma, fast vegetative growth

Desired traits from the pollen donor (Phishhead Kush): Smell, taste, resin production, short flower time, high THC content

Undesirable traits from parents: Pina — flower density, long internodal stretching. Phishhead Kush — low yield, slow vegetative growth
Thats about all i got for now im going to try and update this journal weekly

Huge update!
in week 5 of flower now i have been using all heavy 16 line for this grow

so when I started flowering i was expecting the plants to at most tripple in size and was prepared for that. the 2 bigger plants almost quadrupled in size and outgrew the lights.
Any tips or comments are appreciated this is my first grow so yeah...

That last photo is my main cola i had to take a soft tie and clip a couple carabiners on it to weigh it down and keep it in the light.
also i pulled the afghan og that one plant almost took out the whole lot from root rot.
