The leaves on the top of the main stem are damaged. There are a few other leaves with crispy edges. Any idea what has caused this? Thanks.

Did your plants come in contact with the ballast on your CFL?

No, I'm pretty sure the problem is not due to the light in the grow room. All lighting is fluorescent and l.e.d and is not that hot. I'd also expect more of the plant to be damaged if it was caused by heat, but it is just a very small isolated area. Thanks for your response.

You missed my point. The end of the CFL where the ballast is, gets very hot. And if it comes in contact with your plants, it will burn your leaves.

Thanks again for the response, but I am sure that the plant has not come into contact with any of the lighting. I think the problem lies within the soil.

Not trying to dis your opinion, but if it was a soil condition, wouldn't it affect more than one small area? The soil is a common denominator for the whole plant, not just the affected area, so would not areas above, below and around that area show similar symptoms as well?

Yes, I was thinking this might quickly spread throughout the plant so i wanted to get advice as early as possible...Hopefully you are right and the damage was caused by heat and isn't a more serious soil problem. Thanks again.
