Can someone tell me what would cause the leaf stems on my flowering plant to grow really long. Most of the older fan leaves have grown long. Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like it could be normal, the petioles on some of my fan leaves are pretty beastly.

I seem to be having problems figuring out how to post photos and subscribing to threads etc. This is new to me and im not tech savvy. Any help would be great. As for the long petioles, i thought maybe i was inadvertantly causing it with nute stregths or something.

looks normal to me bro.
Ive seen that over the course of a plants development some of those sun leaves just expand like crazy. I was cleaning up a plant today, pinching a few lower leaves off at the petiole, and they audibly crunched they were so thick and holding huge fans.

Yeah they look normal to me as well. Your plant looks pretty good man, keep up the good work!
Which cultivar is that? I would bet that it’s more genetics than anything you did wrong. I’ve noticed some plants are like that. I’ve been asking myself why, and wondering if those traits are expressed more by indica, sativa, or ruderalis? If seem as if the purpose would be to make the canopy a little less dense which would help fight excess moisture, mold, mildew, etc.good luck
