Made an exhaust fan sound proof box. Quiet is an understatement!

Sup guys i'm working with a 179 CFM 4 inch exhaust fan in a 1'4"X1'4"x3'11" grow tent. Since it was such a small tent I had to put the fan outside. It had to be twice as loud as my fans in my LED. I figure I'd go and get some 1/2' sound board, make up some brackets, screws, insulation, and a can of expandable foam and make a little box I can put on the outside of the tent. Here are some pictures. If anyone has a problem with sound from the fan... this is your solution by far!

perhaps you should request a title change to something like 'How To: Silenced exhaust fan' a statement as a topic in the faq section will not get much traffic

this bump should increase the traffic tho =D

nice setup.. i was thinking about doing something like that but i was afraid the fan would over heat..
