Frank Falco, who spent 15 years on the run in Mexico after being indicted on drug charges, won't be moving much for years to come.

A federal judge in Tacoma sentenced Falco, 58, to 10 years in prison and five years of supervised release Friday on money laundering and drug charges.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Seattle say he was a key player in a smuggling ring that imported 50,000 pounds of hashish into the U.S. A grand jury indicted him in 1997, and U.S. marshals tracked him for years thereafter.

He turned himself in to the U.S. consulate in Guadalajara, Mexico, in March 2008.

In a plea deal, Falco described a scheme in which hashish moved from Pakistan by freighter to the Washington coast, where it was put on fishing boats. The drugs were brought ashore and ended up being distributed in Oregon, California, New York and Toronto, Canada.
