Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under new laws?

Re: Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under the new l

The doctor at Bodystream was a pretty cool guy. He explained that everything is confidential. He asked me if I was already using because he likes to know how much, how often, and what I find works for me. He doesn't care either way, so its best to be honest.

What was the time frame from the Skype appointment till Tilray registration. I just did the Bodystream thing, so far so good.

Re: Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under the new l

Hey stealth I tried pm'ing you but it said I needed 50 posts I just have a decent amount of questions to ask. If you'd like to chat I can leave my email or text you. Just this site is proving to be difficult to useon my phone

I'd rather not give my personal email or phone number, sorry. I assume that you've read through this whole journal, because I've pretty much gone over my personal experience right from the first meeting with the guy at MMS.
A couple others have also posted their experiences. Lucky for me my prescription was for 1 yr, not 6 months like some of the others. I will definitely not be going through MMS again to renew though. I'm gonna go directly to Bodystream and save myself some cash.
If you wanna ask questions of me Wicksy29, I'd be happy to answer all I can, but your gonna have to do it through the journal please.

When I paid the guy at MMS the Skype appointment was 2 or 3 days later if i remember correctly. Once I met with the Bodystream doctor through Skype it was another couple of days before I was contacted by my LP and was able to order some meds. The whole process was actually pretty quick. You should be able to order meds by the end of this week probably.

Tip to others reading this:--DON'T SIGNUP WITH METTRUM!!!!!! They haven't had a steady supply since the beginning of Aug. I haven't been able to order anything from them in almost 4 months now. I don't know what they are doing over over at Mettrum, but I don't think they are growing much Cannabis. There is no response when I send them an email asking questions about their lack of medicine. All they have for sale is "TRIM". They are selling their shake for as much as 7.60$/ gram + tax + shipping. Its freaking ridiculous.

Add-on:

After writing the first part of this post out, I actually called Mettrum cause I was a little frustrated about the whole issue. I asked them whats going on with the supply issue? I was told by the rep that they actually have released new stock almost every week but sells out quickly. I should check the website more often. Really? I said. Because I haven't been getting any of the email notifications that I signed up to receive. I was told by the rep that Mettrum doesn't send out email notices anymore. When I asked why, was told they just stopped doing it. ???%*#@!!%^!!! I'm sure you can guess my thinking here.;)
I hinted towards the fact that the reason they stopped was because if they sent out messages to their patients, all of them would call at once to get meds, and they would be out of stock right away again. All of us Mettrum patients are having such a hard time getting anything from Mettrum. No denial from the rep. You can't get blood from a stone.
I told the rep politely that I was disappointed in the overall patient/customer service from Mettrum, nothing against her personally. Thanked her for her time and hung up. How disappointing and frustrating.
:(

I sent in an email to Bodystream right after our conversation and requested to change LP's. Hopefully they will not charge me anything to switch providers. I think Its gonna be either Tweed or Tilray. Any suggestions anyone?

I just spoke with the Tilray phone reps a couple of days ago, they say they are taking new patients, and shipping product. I can only take them at their word, because my paperwork hasn't been processed yet. If the online opinions of Tilray are any judge, they seem to have their act together. The products seem to get good reviews. They do same day or next day shipping. The only negative i've seen is the price, the good stuff is $12.00 per gram. OUCH!

Re: Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under the new l

I have a question about after you get your license and picked your LP and such...

I've been reading here that some people don't like their current LP and want to switch and need to fill out forms and such. A colleague of mine has had his license since early last year(2014), he currently can walk into a multitude of different compassion clinics throughout Toronto, ON. He has a membership card at all of them.

My question is this, under the new laws, is this no longer an option? You can only get it from your chosen LP and that's it, no making use of the various compassion clinics?

Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under the new l

I was looking for a renewal. My doctor could not issue my renewal so I tried mms. In the end, I got my script, the doctor was great but the services by mms were terrible. Avoid if at all possible. Repeated blunders cost me tons of time. Files were not added propperly and files were not checked before appointment. MMS had my files for a whole month and I was told of a mistake on application less than 24 hours before doctor appointment. I had to reschedule because mms could not take the time to check for completeness. I wish I never had to deal with this middle man company. Over one month between contacting them and getting appointment. Never any answer and messages were very rarely returned. The rep was kurt and unhelpful. I talked to owner and following that, the service was mildly improved. Once again, avoid if possible.

Re: Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under the new l

Under the new system you must pick a license producer and stick with it. You can change but you must do paperwork, it could set you back a couple of weeks.. Compassion clubs are for the old system. The new system is being challenged in court and will be scrapped or continued (tbd feb 27th 2015). In the meantime, compassion clubs are considered grey market. Things are going to be straightened out soon.

At least they have consistent stock. Be careful you you go with. Bedrocan might be a good choice. I am happy with tilray after a miserable experience with peace naturals. Tweed looks ok too

Re: Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under the new l

Tilray has been very good to me. Great customer service and good stock. Prices are high but quality and having stock is most important to me. Don't use peace naturals.

Re: Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under the new l

Ihad so much trouble with MMS. Avoid at all costs. I saw another company called "Home" and another called "the do no harm clinic". also,The greenleaf medcial clinic is a good choice if you live in BC

Marijuana License (Home)

Once again Avoid MMS if you can. they don't answer phones and barely return messages. They are bumblers. They get things done- Eventually and it might take them a few tries. lol

Re: Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under the new l

@stealthgrow Great info! Do you have an MMJ license by chance?

Hi Tasha, yes I'm a legal medical patient. ;)

has anyone had to renew from bodystream yet? im coming up on my 6 months and havent heard anything back yet. sent an email off yesterday..getting a tad worried ..i will be leaving tilray. they have upped their prices like crazy, all 12+ a gram which is insane! over 400 an oz!!

Hi Pembro :ciao:
My 1 yr renewal date is coming up in June. I'm going to go directly through Bodystream, not MMS. Sorry so many people had issues or bad experiences with MMS. I met the owner through work, so he probably was a little nicer to me than the average Joe I guess.
I emailed bodystream a couple months ago about changing LP's and they got back to me fairly quickly. (couple days)
I'll post an update when I get my renewal about how it went.
Cheers.

When I get my renewal I'm going to go directly through the Doctor that I originally had my appointment with. Thank god I don't have to go through MMS again. I'll post an update once I get the renewal in June.

Re: Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under the new l

Do you get a *copy* of the prescription sent to the LP after Dr. consult? It doesn't look like you receive any kind of documentation stating you are a legal marijuana patient. Seems like all evidence is in hard copy form and in other's, hands. Is that so? No license you can put in your wallet/file etc...?

Hi Pulp.
I picked Mettrum as my LP, and they provided me with a card that has my name, prescription, and doctors name etc. on it. Your prescription is also on the bottles they send the meds in, and they give an extra sticker with my name and prescription on it that I put on my small CVault container. This way pretty much everything that I put my cannabis in has my prescription and info on it. But no, you don't get the original prescription (paperwork) from the doctor.

Thank you stealthgrow for the detailed explanation, really appreciate it! :goodjob:

Does anyone know if Tweed does the same thing (card that has my name, prescription, and doctors name etc. on it) ?

Re: Medical Marijuana Services - Looking for a prescription in Canada under the new l

I'm going to go directly through Bodystream, not MMS...

How does one get past Step 1 with Bodystream if they insist on the following?

"STEP 1:
Make sure you have supporting medical documentation verifying your condition or diagnosis. This may be in the form of a letter or consultation notes from your doctor or specialist, X-rays, MRI's, etc. We are not able to provide a full assessment to determine a diagnosis for you, we can only help treat a pre-diagnosed condition."

My DR didn't want to sign forms for MM to begin with and certainly won't to be passed off onto some one else. Is a note really necessary with Bodystream and you're dead in the water without one?

Hi again Pulp.
Medical Marijuana Service (MMS) is a company that connects patients like you and I with Doctors (Bodystream) who are willing to sign and prescribe us MMJ. MMS is not the only company out there that does this service, there is actually link to at least one other of these types of companies earlier in this journal/post, and tons more if you Google it, I'm sure.
The reason I might be able to renew directly through Bodystream is because I already have my prescription, and I went through their Doctor the first time last year to get my original prescription.
The people at MMS just connected me with the Doctor at Bodystream who actually wrote my prescription.
Hope this makes sense, Cheers & good luck

no worries my friend. ;)

So weird, this popped into my inbox yesterday, I don't quite know how, I don't remember signing up for it but...check these guys out.
Lift

Looks like they do pretty much the same thing as MMS, but maybe they have inhouse doctors you connect with through Skype.
Cheers
