Might the flush have started to soon?

A good friend is close to finishing his plant. The strain is a said to be a 55-60 finisher. He began feeding with only water day 44, but it looks by day 52 to possibly be closer too 66 days before finishing. The pistils are not as brown as previously expected and there is new growth filling in the branches.

The problem is that it's pro mix. Can the the plant go 21 days without nutes and still finish safe? It's medicinal so the flush is important to him, but is hoping for some advice. Should he add nutes again once or remain in extended flush for three weeks (just watering when I say flush not passing massive amounts through the soiless).

I would continue feeding it until you start to see the kind of trichome colors you are looking for, then flush for 7-10 days. You should be fine feeding at the same level you were before you flushed.
