BROWNWOOD, Texas -- Monday, a trial is slated to begin in Brownwood, to decide the fate of a man arrested for drug possession, but he claims it was medicinal drugs.
Back in June, Christopher Diaz was arrested for possessing medical marijuana.
A DPS trooper pulled him over near Brownwood and discovered California doctor-issued marijuana and hashish in his car.
The situation has sparked a bit of a controversy.
Supporters say Diaz was using the substances to treat his asthma.
But DPS officials say that's no excuse to bring it into Texas.
